HistorySnap is a private, offline history reader. The snaps you complete, the saved snaps you keep, your daily-snap state, your streak, your reading mode, and your nickname all stay on this device. There is no account, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no tracking in v1.
HistorySnap v1 does not request location permission and does not collect location data.
HistorySnap can send a single optional daily snap reminder at a time you choose. The notification permission is requested only when you turn the reminder on in Settings > Daily snap nudge, not at first launch. All reminders stay on this device.
If you buy Premium, the purchase is processed by Apple's StoreKit. We do not receive your name, email, or payment details.
Settings > Delete all local data removes every snap state, saved snap, review item, daily-snap record, streak day, and settings row. Premium entitlement is preserved so you do not have to repurchase. A confirmation step protects against accidental taps. You can do this at any time without uninstalling.
HistorySnap is general-reader history and culture content, not academic research material. We cite a source per snap and mark uncertainty when dates, attributions, or locations are approximate. The app is not a textbook, classroom curriculum, museum guide, or qualified-historian deliverable.
Snaps are short summarized framings written for the general reader. They do not represent the consensus of any specific institution. There is no live fact-checking; content is pre-authored and source-noted against bundled citations and uncertainty rules.
